Class Schedule

:We are currently enrolling for the  2018/2019 school year

Daily Schedule

The school year schedule is designed for the children to learn a routine and how to interact with peers in society in a developmentally appropriate way. Each stage of the day has been meticulously structured for the age of the children.

9:00-9:30 a.m. Wash hands Parent/Child Play Time! Tumble room is open for gross motor play. Art  project in the main room.

9:30-10:30 a.m. Sensory table opens. It is always exciting to see what is in the table. The kids love the table weather there are coffee beans, dried pasta, or water to name a few.

Children participate in the play theme of the month. Water, smells, winter are some examples. They are free to roam the room and experience the environment that has been set up for each age group.  Play dough table opens at 10:45

What are parents doing when all this is happening?

Parents have discussion facilitated by a seasoned parent educator in the adjoining room. This parent time is incredibly helpful.  Its great to have people to bounce things off of and get feedback from other who are battling the same parenting struggles like tantrums, picky eating, time outs, potty training.  Children are welcome to check-in/hang out with parent as much as desired… although most kids get pretty interested in the cool activities in the other room. This structure is perfect for the ages of the children and really helps with separation anxiety.

-1030-10:45 a.m.   Snack time is a fun way for picky toddlers to  try new foods and practice age appropriate table manners.

1045-11 a.m. Carpet and Music time led by our very energetic children’s Teacher–parent and child participate together

Midland Cooperative Preschool is a Bates affiliated play-based preschool for children ages 1-3. Parents and children attend each class together giving you time to play and bond with your child. There is also a fantastic parent education component built right into the 2-hour schedule. We are the only preschool in the area using this model and have been doing so for 20 years! We are supported by 2 parent educators, 1 preschool teacher, and a Bates Home and Family Life instructor. Our bright and cheerful preschool is located in the Midland area, and because of our proximity to Highway 512 we have served families from Puyallup, Graham, Tacoma, Bonney Lake, and Parkland. Visitors are welcome to observe a class at any time during the school year!
